My 2015 Commitments: September Check-In

A new month begins and it is time to go through my 2015 September Check-in with you and assess my progress. It’s all about accountability.
Last month I wrote that July passed by fast. I would not know what to say about August. It flew by! It is true that I am doing my best to keep myself busy. I simply have had enough of waiting. But unfortunately, things aren’t as optimal as I wish they were, but I can’t stop and I won’t stop.

Invest in my health
I don’t know what to say about my health. Today, I am going to the doctor to have a blood test done. I am doing everything right (in my opinion):
- eating well without going hard on a diet
- working out, but not forcing myself too much
Unfortunately, my ups and downs didn’t get better. It is really a test to my resilience, positivity, and will-power. I have never thought that it would take me this long to get back on my feet. It is annoying and hard to understand. It is hard for me to get into my head that a couple of days before surgery I was kicking it and now that I’m healthy, there is little I can do.
I am going to get over it. No matter how long it takes. It is just too frustrating right now…

Keep on organizing
I have to say that this was the point I made the most progress in August. Again, what I have organized has remained this way and more and more I am getting things done.
Last week, I got 2 shoe organizers for under the bed and they are great. We don’t have room for shoes in our wardrobe (one wardrobe for my partner and I) and I was tired of having my shoes in chaos under the bed.
A while ago, I bought a hanger at IKEA, but it does not fit all kinds of shoes. It is perfect for sandals, flip flops and mocassins, but not for high heels. That is where the other shoe organizer comes in place.
Because I have all my shoes in one place, it is also much easier to clean the floor. And whenever cleaning is easier, the less time spent with it. In other words: win-win situation.
I also bought a window washer 2 in 1 set and a pole (similar to the ones below) which has made my life much easier when it comes to cleaning.
Because I still get tired way too fast, if I want to do something, it better not last long. Otherwise, I will have to sleep in the day after. That is not my idea of productivity.
Anyways, slowly but surely, I am catching up with my home.
Learn more and more
What do you do when you can’t workout and you are home? Well, I cannot clean the place day in, day out. So I write and read. My iPad is just getting more ebooks by the day and I am making time to read every day.
Since I am not a morning person, I take the first hours of the day to catch up with my reading. I have been reading a little bit of everything: blogging, social media, organization etc. It has been great to keep my brain busy.
