It takes time to become a Better You, but here you have 3 reasons why you shouldn’t postpone it anymore.
“No matter who you are, no matter what you did, no matter where you’ve come from, you can always change, become a better version of yourself.” – Madonna
How many times have you postponed important plans? I’m not only talking about professional tasks but responsibilities in general. Do you remember that diet you were going to start? What about that gym enrollment? Why did it happen? And why has it already happened more than once?
Even though I’m sure you’ll give different explanations for reschedules, they probably have something in common: lack of urgency.
We all want things. It’s easier to think first of material objects like a car or some outfit. But our wishes and dreams frequently go beyond the things money can buy.
I’m not going to write a dissertation whether they are valid goals or not. However, at least once in our life, we have wished we were thinner, fitter or were able to quit a habit such as smoking.
Sometimes, we start to put in place new routines with lots of energy. We are all enthusiasm!
Despite our best intentions, life happens, and we face obstacles of all kinds. Sometimes it’s your kid who got sick. Other times it’s a meeting that took longer than expected. Or even the weather and some traffic jam.
It’s true that some of these drawbacks are more serious than others. Yet, on some level, they often lead someone to lose excitement.
Depending on their frequency or on the impact these detours have on us, we end up quitting whatever great plans we had for ourselves.
Without trying to ignore your struggles, I’m here to remind you that no matter what, your time is NOW.
3 reasons why you can and should become a Better You today. #HolisticHealth Click To TweetYou are worth it
It’s not rare to hear people explaining their change of heart about their goals using sentences such as:
- “It was too much for me anyways.”
- “I was dreaming too high.”
- “Let’s face it! It was not for me.”
- “I’m not worth it.”
Do you recognize yourself in this negative self-talk?
If your answer was yes, guess what? You’re not alone…
Every day people are quitting something important to them. It happens because of the most various reasons.
The trigger can be something beyond their control. But the worst part is their inner voice. It starts a denigrating conversation and it all goes down the drain.
Because it comes from within, and because we are taught that being humble and unworthy are the same thing, we fall into a trap. After a night or two “thinking”, we are 100% convinced of the fact that we shouldn’t “waste” our time trying. That we are not worth it.
In times like this, remember why you started!
When in doubt, remember why you started. #HolisticHealth #BetterYou Click To TweetYou have what it takes
Another aspect of lack of self-value is not realizing how skilled we are.
From the moment you defined your goals using the correct approach, there shouldn’t be room for doubt anymore.
Have in mind that whenever I talk about dreams and goals, I’m excluding all sorts of fantasies and little wishes. These may sound cute, but they are not to contribute to our Personal Improvement.
When you took the time to choose your objectives wisely and planned accordingly, you knew you were able to accomplish them.
Doubt happens to all of us. You’ll have to overcome it with that inner certainty that you have what it takes to finalize your projects.

You can do it
Some people consider themselves worth it of something “more” and they even know they have the skills to do what needs to be done. Yet, they lack the inner fuel that should push them forward.
If that’s your case, you’ll have to:
- put aside self-doubt
- trust your instincts
- go for it!
Remember why you started it.
Develop a positive mentality while working towards your goals. The road will still be bumpy, but you’ll feel protected. You’ll become your greatest supporter. One who will always be there and will never fail.
When you set your plan, you knew there were going to be obstacles. Yet, they didn’t stop you from starting then. They shouldn’t stop you now either.
Don’t let the fog of hesitation get in your way. I’m telling you: you can do it! It only depends on you.
Today is the day
Time and time again, I’ll reinforce the importance of your “why”. It’s so because if your reasons aren’t strong enough, all the rest will crumble.
Yes, I do believe in your desire to lose weight. But wishing is not enough and you know that, don’t you?
A better question is: why do you want to lose weight? Is it because of your:
- health?
- appearance?
- fitness level?
- self-image?
Go back to your reason for starting and remind yourself of your “why”. It’s key whether it was:
- quitting a habit
- implementing a new routine in your life
- adding a new activity to your schedule
Don’t wait until next week, next month or next year (unless it’s part of the plan). There’s no better time than NOW for you to become a better version of yourself.
Adversity will always be there. It’s only a matter of facing it sooner than later. And the choice is yours.
