Blueberry Smoothie Recipe for Lazy Days

Nothing better than a smoothie in the afternoon on a lazy day. And if it is a recipe with blueberry then, it is perfect.
That was a busy week for me. In fact, I went way off my routine and I have to admit that my body paid the price for it.
At work, I have trained my two new colleagues, which is something I love doing and reminds me of my time as an English teacher, but the part of waking up earlier and sitting the whole time in a meeting room was exhausting. I can only hope that they enjoyed their time over here in Belgium and that I have been of help.
Now it is time to reset and get new plans in motion…
Blueberry Smoothie Recipe for Lazy DaysAs from Monday on, I will be training twice a day for 2 weeks. Even though I am putting an effort in increasing my muscle mass, I do not want to miss my conditioning. I will probably be adding up some cardio and stretching AM, before work, to get the blood flowing to start the day with energy. In the evenings, I will be hitting the box to get some Crossfit done.
It has been a long time since I last trained in the morning, so chances are I will have to go slower on myself as I would like to. Still, no matter how deep I can go, it will be progress and that is what I am looking for.
[Tweet “Getting stronger is not only about lifting heavy weights. It’s about becoming healthier inside too.”]
With my surgery coming closer*, the idea of strengthening my body has taken a totally new direction. Now it is not only a matter of how heavy I can lift or how far I can run. The healthier I am from inside, the greater are my chances of having a successful and fast recovery. Even though I had a very positive chat with my surgeon two weeks ago, I do not want to leave anything to chances. Therefore, I am doing everything I can to make it possible.
With that said, I have been adding healthy carbs to my intake as well. I did go out for dinner with the team twice, but as a rule of thumb, I am sticking to my plan to make sure my diet consists mainly of anti-inflammatory ingredients. Among other things, I am having fruit daily and keeping a eye on my hydration levels.

Because it is Saturday and I simply felt like doing it, I put up another smoothie together this afternoon. It was not as fancy as last week’s, but I just wanted to have something fresh, refreshing and healthy for snack. I still had a handful blueberries, my favorite ingredient, so it was all perfect.
