Summary Sunday : Giveaway and updates

The past month has been crazy. I have hardly been able to go online and catch up with everyone. Mostly it is because of work, but life in general has been keeping me busy and I am not complaining. I am enjoying every single moment and I am truly thankful for all the encounters, surprises and why not, challenges I came across recently. I believe that everything happens for a reason, so I am taking time to observe, learn and enjoy the Path that is being presented in front of me.
And to give you all an idea of what I have been up to, nothing better than a Summary Sunday to put it all together in one entry.
As I have mentioned on my blog Proprio-what?!?, I recently finished the Physical Trainer of the Physical Coaching Academy and since November 15th, I am attending the Personal Trainer course to acquire the NASM Certification. For someone who has a totally non-related job, it is quite a challenging. I do not have the opportunity to implement much of what I learn at work so I must make time to study, and study hard. Despite the difficulties, I could not be happier for that. It is my passion, it is what I like doing and it is exciting to be able to help others get fit.
For the past weeks, I have not been following my usual diet. Since I came to Belgium, I don’t remember going out so much in a such a short period of time. I loved it! Even though I left my 20s behind long ago and I am not accustomed anymore, I enjoyed it really very much. Mainly because the companion could not be better. Still, it is now time to face reality and get rid of the extra fat I acquired.
As I am going for a more technical approach of my intake (thanks for the tip Phil Graham!), I finally made up my mind and bought Sohee‘s ebook “How To Count Macros“. I have just started reading it, but I will surely share my impressions when I am done. I got way too accustomed to having someone else telling me exactly what to do so I forgot how it is to think for myself. However, as a Physical Trainer (and future Personal Trainer), it is my responsibility to understand the mechanisms involved in putting a good diet together (even though nothing substitutes working with a Nutritionist!).
Also within the framework of losing body fat, I will be running more for the next weeks. I picked the Intermediary plan from Nike+ and I will go for it. If you want to join me, please add DebbieInShape to your friends. Since my kick-off in 2009, I have ran a total of 1,000km using it and since last week, I am blue, after 148 runs. It is not even close any real runner I know, but I prefer to think that it is not that bad for a bodybuilder who stayed away from the streets for years.
Last but not least, last Friday it was the last day of the Dual Shaker giveaway and we have a winner! Jodi Stuber, you have until Tuesday, November 25th, 2014, midnight GMT to reply my email with your details so that I can send you your gift.
